Antique Georgian Pinchbeck Banded Agate Brooch

Antique Georgian brooch set with a large rectangular banded agate cabochon in an ornate pinchbeck gold-tone frame. The agate has particularly attractive concentric banding with a crystalline centre.

The stone setting is loose from the surrounding frame on one side. It has always been this way and does not prevent the brooch from being worn.
